Delightful 2-bedroom 2-bathroom top-floor Ski Apartment plus mezzanine sleeping area in Méribel Hamlet

This 3rd-floor apartment in a converted Chalet is full of charm and original features: most striking are the vaulted ceilings and beams which allude to the history of the building. It offers two double bedrooms, one of which is en-suite; a cosy mezzanine sleeping area; a small separate laundry area; an open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room; and also a ski locker on the ground floor of the building.

The “official” floor area of the Apartment is 38.30 m2; however, there is an additional 24 m2 of floor area that is under the official 1.8 metres in height.

The entrance to the apartment is on the second floor of the Chalet, and opens immediately onto a spiral staircase and the apartment’s solid wood-floored landing with a high vaulted ceiling and skylight window, allowing light to flood in.

The first double bedroom boasts built-in storage in the eaves, an east-facing window with a superb view of the valley, as well as a skylight window. The second bedroom along the hall is the largest double and comes complete with en-suite shower-room with toilet, built-in wardrobe and storage in the eaves, as well as 2 skylight windows.

Up a wooden ladder is the cosy mezzanine level, which can be curtained off and is perfectly suitable for children: there are currently two custom-built low single beds in the room, which also has a skylight window.

The separate family bathroom has a bathtub with shower, a WC and a washbasin.

A large walk-in cupboard houses both a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The open-plan living/kitchen/dining room is set underneath and around the vaulted ceilings, beams and eaves that really make this apartment so special. There is comfortable seating for 6-8 people in the lounge and at the dining table.

The corner kitchen is small, but good quality with solid wooden worktops and cupboards, a full-sized oven and 4-ring electric hob. The quality, solid wooden floor flows through into the living space from the landing and corridor. In this, the hub of the Apartment, there are three large skylight windows and one large window at the lounge end with breathtaking views down the valley.

There is a ski locker for the Apartment, located in the ground-floor entrance hallway to the main building.

Set in a rustic Savoyard hamlet just 4km from the centre of the Meribel resort, the pistes are reachable in under 10 minutes using the free resort bus service which stops just 30 seconds down the street from the Apartment building and runs every 15-20 minutes at peak times and hourly off-peak. During the winter season, the first bus to the lifts in Meribel is at 7.33am whilst the last bus back is at 0.30am. This is a very practical option for those who prefer to avoid parking in Meribel at busy times. There is also a free service during the summer season.

It is just a 5-minute drive to Meribel and a 20-minute walk to the ‘Olympe’ cable car station that links Meribel and Brides les Bains.
