This luxury property fuses traditional alpine features with modern touches, creating the perfect space in which to relax and take in the magical views that surround it. Situated in a quaint hamlet, the property is conveniently located a short drive away from the centre of Meribel with good bus links and a telecabine providing easy access to the pistes. In spite of these easy links to the slopes and to the amenities of Meribel, the village retains a more traditional feel with its winding streets zigzagging between chalets made of traditional wood and stone. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery and nestled in a sleepy hamlet, this stunning chalet offers tranquillity and alpine luxury as well as great skiing.

Traditional stone work fades into old-style wood on the façade of the chalet, with stone steps leading up to the entrance on the first floor. On the right-hand side of the building, impeccably blended into the stone and wood work of the chalet, there is a stable area for horses.

The entrance of the house leads into a huge open-plan kitchen/living/dining room with windows and French doors on three sides that allow the space to capture sunlight throughout the day. The French doors open out on to a beautiful wooden balcony that wraps right around the house, affording panoramic views over the village in front, the mountains towering above in every direction and the fields stretching away behind the property. This balcony offers a peaceful space where a brook meandering through the hamlet is the only sound to be heard.

The living space blends traditional with contemporary – the classic wooden features are artfully blended with modern furnishings and colours to create an ideal open-plan space in which to relax.

Through a door on the right lies the master bedroom suite complete with ensuite bathroom and WC. The bedroom is large with beautiful wooden beams and features. French doors open out onto the main balcony, which offers breathtaking views over the countryside. The ensuite bathroom is large and elegant with a double sink.

From the living space, a lovely traditional wooden staircase leads up to the second floor. There are four bedrooms with 2 bathrooms and a WC between them.  There are two bedrooms on the left as you reach the first floor: these are of a good size and connected by a shared balcony looking down over the hamlet and onto the mountains beyond. There are two more bedrooms at the end of the hallway that are similarly joined by a lovely wooden balcony. This time the views are of the fields and mountains that lie at the back of the property. All of the bedrooms are spacious and this floor has a more traditional feel with its darker wooden features, sloping ceilings and exposed beams.

Down from the main floor, the house offers a huge, luxurious space with many good-sized rooms leading off from the main corridor. This space would offer a buyer the scope to be creative and make what they want of the amazing area. Currently, there is a games room, toilet, laundry room, pantry, and, at the end, a huge room with a gym and a hammam. There is also a door to the enormous garage space which is big enough for 4 cars as well as providing lots of storage space.

The hamlet in which the Chalet is situated is notable not only for its tranquillity but also for its proximity to the skiing – a short ski down from the Chalet to the main road just across from the ‘Olympe’ gondola station brings you to La Chaudanne, Meribel’s main ski lifts, in around 15 minutes.

Alternatively it is a 5-minute drive or bus journey to the centre of resort. A free resort bus serves the hamlet and runs several times an hour during the ski season and in the months of July and August: the bus stop is a 5-minute walk from the Chalet.

The excellent location and high quality of this Chalet are a rare find. The potential buyer has the opportunity to be part of an authentic Savoyard community hamlet. In addition, one can “ski in” into the hamlet and almost to the front door, and the bus stop and gondola are just a few minutes ski and/or walk away from the Chalet, making access to the rest of the Three Valleys effortless!
